Dr. Colleen Tansey, DVM, DACVIM (oncology)

Bio: Dr. Colleen Tansey is a board-certified veterinary oncologist who lives and works in Southern California. Her passion for veterinary medicine brought her to the field after a career in marketing and advertising. She is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences and then pursued a rigorous internship and residency in medical oncology. She gained board certification through the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in oncology. She is also one of the few oncologists who have sought additional training in electrochemotherapy and provides this service to practitioners in Southern California. She currently works at Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital in Los Angeles as a medical oncologist and, when not in clinic, frequently donates her time to organizations that help provide care to underserved communities, including multiple recent trips to Skid Row. She enjoys engaging with veterinary practitioners both in clinics and through continuing education and most recently spoke at the American Veterinary Medical Association convention. Through her clinical expertise, commitment to innovation, and dedication to compassionate outreach, Dr. Tansey strives to expand access to oncological services for veterinary patients while supporting both pets, the people who love them, and the veterinarians who care for them.
