This lecture will review diagnostics, staging and treatment options for degenerative valve disease including updates from the EPIC and BEST studies and emerging and future therapies.

April Durtschi DVM, ACVIM (Cardiology)

Dr. April Durtschi is a true coast to coast cardiologist. Originally from Long Beach, California, Dr. Durtschi received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2002. She then completed a 1 year internship at The Animal Medical Center in New York City. She worked in emergency medicine in Sacramento and then at the University of Missouri during a research fellowship in comparative cardiovascular science. She completed her cardiology residency in 2011 at The University of Tennessee. She practiced cardiology in Washington, New York, and Connecticut before coming back home to California. She is board certified in cardiology with a special interest in medical management of chronic heart disease and tailors treatment to the individual pet and their family. Compassion comes first with Dr. Durtschi.
