Speaker: Sebastian Mejia, DMV, Practice Limited to Small Animal surgery

Bio: Dr. Sebastian Mejia relocated to the United States after finishing veterinary school in Bogota, Colombia in 2010. After validating his title to be able to practice in North America, he completed a rotating internship at VMSG, in Ventura, CA, followed by a surgical internship at VCA ARECA in Mesa, AZ, and a couple of internships at Colorado State University working on research in orthopedic clinical trials and surgical oncology. Finally, he started his residency at a private practice in South Florida, prior to transferring to the University of Missouri to finalize his training. Dr. Mejia has published several articles as a primary author and has a major interest in clinical research.

Dr. Mejia is a dedicated and passionate small animal surgeon with a particular interest in orthopedics, minimally invasive surgery, surgical oncology, trauma care, and wound management with reconstructive surgery. In his free time, he enjoys riding his motorcycle, working out, and competitive shooting. He lives with his two Boerboels, Kaya and Bru, and his cat Dr. Gonzo.
