This course will provide an overview of an antimicrobial stewardship and address ways to reduce and more appropriately use antimicrobials in your companion animal practice.

Speaker: Dr. Silene St. Bernard

Dr. Silene St. Bernard is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine (ACVPM). She received her B.S. in Zoology (1988) and DVM (1998) degrees from The Ohio State University and completed two years of Masters level studies in biomedical engineering and business at Case Western Reserve University focusing on implantable materials. She has 20 years of experience in companion animal veterinary medicine and has practiced in OH, WA, CA and MO. Dr. St. Bernard designed, built, operated and sold a companion animal veterinary practice in addition to practicing both general and referral emergency medicine. Dr. St. Bernard was a Regional Consulting Veterinarian with Elanco Animal Health and was previously in a similar position with Novartis Animal Health. Currently, she is a Regional Medical Director for VCA.
