We have all felt the stresses of uncertainty in the current times.  During times of stress, communications can be the first thing to break down. And this is no different for our clients. It is imperative to better communicate and facilitate decision making with our clients more than ever. Blocks in communication can affect patient care.  The ability to recognize these blocks, opens an opportunity to dialog which in turn will improve patient care. This lecture will provide you with “opening lines” to start that dialog as well as other strategies to add to your communications toolbox.  We will discuss practical solutions to create the time necessary to effectively communicate within your busy day.

Speaker: Dr. KaLee R Pasek, DVM, CVFP, CHPV

Dr KaLee Pasek received her DVM from Colorado State University with a special interest in the Human Animal Bond.  In 2009 she received a Credential in Veterinary Family Practice from the University of California at Davis. Veterinary Family Practice emphasizes that the “patient” includes the pet and the pet’s human family.  Multidisciplinary studies included human psychology, sociology, communication, and family dynamic studies. In 2018, she completed her Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care from the International Association of Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.  Dr Pasek owns Transitions Veterinary Care, a geriatric – palliative – hospice house call referral practice in Ventura County. In addition to clinical practice, Dr Pasek has enjoyed a long career in education lecturing locally and internationally for her parent company Diversified Veterinary Services, Inc.
