Yvonne started working in a general practice in 2003. After seven years she decided to challenge herself and became a veterinary technology program instructor at Carrington College California. She worked as an instructor for several years, as a vet tech program director for a year, and then found her way into a specialty hospital in 2012 where she gets the privilege of working with patients diagnosed with intricate diseases and helping them feel better.

Yvonne has presented on subjects related to SAIM at American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Forum in 2017SAGE Small Animal Symposium in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020VSPN in 2020, and in the Internal Medicine For Vet Techs Membership.

In 2018, she founded Internal Medicine For Pet Parents, a website designed to help educate pet owners about the diseases their pets were diagnosed with. Visit www.internalmedicineforpetparents.com for resources for pet owners.

In 2019, Yvonne realized there was a need for a place dedicated to veterinary professionals interested in small animal internal medicine and Internal Medicine For Vet Techs was born. In 2019, she and her business partner, Jordan Porter, started the Internal Medicine For Vet Techs Podcast. In 2020, the company gained it’s AAVSB RACE approved provider status and added the Internal Medicine For Vet Techs Membership site for continuing education courses and a dedicated veterinary community. Visit www.internalmedicineforvettechs.com for continuing education and tools for vet techs working with internal medicine diseases.

Yvonne continues to work closely with pet parents as their fur-babies are diagnosed with intricate diseases to help provide the best care, and to maintain a good quality of life for both pets and their families.
