Topic: Working Out the Bugs- The Microbiome and Veterinary Patients

Objectives:  This discussion will include what comprises the microbiome in dogs and cats and how the microbiome is established, as well as what influences it.  You will learn what happens with dysbiosis (more specifically in IBD patients), and how the microbiome impacts disease and vice versa.  Lastly, how we can detect and treat dysbiosis and what new diagnostics and treatments are “up and coming” for veterinary medicine will be discussed.
